Mac McCarty

James H (Mac) McCarty, Jr. graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in History, and
later both a J.D and an M.B.A. from UF.
He is a Past President of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association Board of Directors and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Mac is a founding member of McCarty Focks, PLLC, and the founder of predecessor firm McCarty, Naim, Focks & Keeter P.A., in Gainesville.

In addition, he has substantial experience in the corporate world, working in business acquisition, business development, and contracting. He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Real Estate and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. His practice is centered on real estate and business-related law. Mac and his wife, Teresa, live in Alachua.
Mac has served on the Board of Directors of STOP Children’s Cancer, Inc. and on the Charity Golf Classic Committee for many years.

Peter Focks

A Gainesville native, Peter C. Focks received both his B.A. in History and his J.D. degrees from the University of Florida. Peter was a shareholder in McCarty, Naim, Focks & Keeter, P.A., and now a founding member in its successor firm, McCarty Focks, PLLC. Peter has served on the Board of the North Florida Estate Planning Council and is a presenter at seminars on landlord-tenant and community association law.

He specializes in both homeowners and condominium association law, including as associations’ general counsel for enforcement and amendment of governing documents, as well as collections of assessments. Peter also handles transactional real estate (closings), real estate litigation, including landlord-tenant, eviction, ejectment, boundary, and title disputes. His estate planning and probate practice includes wills, trust agreements, and advanced healthcare directives, probate and trust administration.

Peter and his wife live in Gainesville with their two young daughters.
